Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 1,399 head selling on June 21, compared to 4,638 head a week ago and 2,362 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 750 to 950 pounds were selling firm to $4 higher on a light test. There were not enough medium and large frame 1 feeder heifers for a true market test, however a higher undertone was noted. There were not enough steer and heifer calves for a market. Trade was moderate and demand active. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $2 higher. The feeder supply was 56% steers, 44% heifers with 98% 600 pounds and over.
