Russell feeder cattle auction report
The Russell feeder cattle report, Russell, Iowa, reported receipts of 3,095 head selling on Nov. 12, compared to 3,292 head Oct. 29 and 2,505 head last year, according to the USDA-Iowa Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Des Moines, Iowa.
Compared to the Oct. 29 sale, feeder steers were selling mostly $10 to $20 lower and feeder heifers under 500 pounds were selling mostly $15 to $25 lower. Feeder heifers over 500 pounds were selling mostly $8 to $12 lower. Trade and demand was moderate. Receipts included 44% feeder cattle over 600 pounds 62% of the feeders were steers and 38% were heifers.
