Soybean, sorghum cash bids lower
Compared to Nov. 9, cash bids for corn and wheat were mixed, while soybeans and sorghum were lower, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Nov. 13.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said 44.7 million bushels of corn were inspected for export last week, putting total inspections up 86 percent in 2018-19 from a year ago. 47.8 million bushels of soybeans were inspected for export last week, bringing the total to 364.1 million bushels. That is still down 42 percent from a year ago. 12.6 million bushels of wheat were inspected for export last week, putting total inspections down 21 percent from a year ago.
Wheat was from a cent lower to 71 cents higher. Corn was from 4 1/4 cents lower to 4 3/4 cents higher. Soybeans were a 1/2 to 11 1/2 cents lower. Sorghum was 5 3/4 cents lower.
In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $4.86 1/2, down 1 cent.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.96 1/2, down 1 cent; Minneapolis, $5.93 1/4, up 5 cents; Portland, $6.20 to $6.35, up 5 cents to unchanged; St. Louis, $5.33, up 6 to 71 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.64 1/2, up 4 3/4 to 1/4 cent; Minneapolis, unavailable; southern Iowa, $3.46 1/2 to $3.49 1/2, down 4 1/4 to 1 1/4 cents; Omaha, $3.50, unchanged to down 3 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $8.43 1/4 to $8.48 1/4, down 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, unavailable; southern Iowa, $8.33 1/4 to $8.43 1/4, down 5 1/2 to 1/2 cent; central Illinois processors, $8.23 1/4 to $8.58 1/4, down 8 1/2 to 11 1/2 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Nov. 13, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $6.01 1/2 to $6.16 1/2, down 1 cent; 12 percent protein, $6.21 1/2 to $6.32 1/2, down 1 cent; 13 percent protein, $6.21 1/2 to $6.36 1/2, down 1 cent; 14 percent protein, $6.26 1/2 to $6.41 1/2, down 1 cent. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
