Colorado feeder cattle auction summary
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colorado, reported receipts of 5,167 head selling on Nov. 30, compared to 3,543 head a week ago and 5,613 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado.
Compared to a week ago, trade activity and demand was moderate to good. Feeder steers under 700 pounds were trading mostly steady to $7 higher with instances selling $4 lower on 600 to 650 pound steers, 700 to 800 pounds steers were selling steady to $2 higher. There was no test on steers weighing over 800 pounds. Feeder heifers under 700 pounds were trading mostly $3 to $6 lower, 700 to 750 pound heifers were trading $2 higher. There was no test on heifers weighing over 750 pounds. The feeder supply consisted of approximately 58% steers, 41% heifers and 1% bulls. The feeder cattle over 600 pounds made up approximately 36% of the supply.
