On to the NEXT

Our journey, as part of your farm family and local community, has been historic and special to be a part of your legacy. Whether print, digital, or events, if you enjoyed any moment of High Plains Journal’s last 75 years, you will not want to miss what I call – “HPJ NEXT.”

HPJ has always taken pride in delivering trusted, timely information to rural America. For decades, that has meant showing up in your mailbox every week. Beginning in May 2025, we are adjusting that rhythm—moving from 52 print issues per year to 26. At first, this may sound like a monumental change, but once you better understand how High Plains Journal has evolved and currently provides more than 250,000 farmers and ranchers with an industry leading subscriber experience (print and digital), you will quickly realize the future of HPJ couldn’t be brighter.

This change is driven by two realities: Rising print and postage costs, and the growing demand for digital content that is faster and more flexible. By moving to a biweekly print schedule, we can preserve the quality and depth you expect in each issue, while also investing in a stronger digital experience that keeps you informed and connected between print deliveries. Our commitment to serving farmers, ranchers and rural communities will never change. We are simply adapting how we deliver that service to ensure High Plains Journal stays strong for the next generation.

Much like your operation, we must always look for opportunities to evolve. Due to audience desire to scale and personalize their subscriptions, request for more options and access, we have reinvested and are positioned to share a new simplified design to provide a membership level experience; providing more benefits than ever before. Each print edition will have expanded content and a heightened quality giving it a shelf-life unlike any past issue. Your subscription will also qualify you to personalize your digital experience with full access to expanded digital content pertinent to your operation and personal interests.

Our goal is to make sure you don’t miss a thing. If you’re wondering where to find the content that doesn’t appear in the print edition, you can find it all at hpj.com. We will be publishing more content online, including breaking news, timely updates, and extras that do not fit in the biweekly print format.

If you’re a subscriber, you will also have access to premium digital content—articles, insights, and features curated especially for our loyal readers. And don’t forget to subscribe to our email newsletters at hpj.com/newsletters so you never miss a story, an auction or cattle sale.

This new biweekly print schedule will begin in May 2025, with the first issue arriving the week of May 12. From that point forward, High Plains Journal will be delivered every other week through the end of the year.

If you have questions or would like to learn more about the options now available, please contact our subscriber services team. They are happy to help and can be reached at 620-227-1836 or visit hpj.com/subscribe for more information.

As a Thank You for your loyalty and support through this transition, we are offering our paid subscribers free admission to HPJ Live in 2025, Aug. 6 to 8 in Wichita, Kansas (hpj.com/events). We can’t wait to see you there!

Our promise to provide trustworthy ag news, support and advocacy for farmers and ranchers will always be the thread and center of everything we do. Our connection is personal. We do not take these changes lightly and hope you agree that “HPJ Next” will take your subscription to a whole new level.
