The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 6, reported receipts of 40,678 head compared to 51,429 head a week ago and 63,095 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,512 head, 1,400 to 1,750 lbs., 215.00 to 223.00 (219.04); 65 to 80% Choice, 111 head, 1,380 lbs., 223.00. Live delivered, 123 head, 1,475 to 1,525 lbs. 219.00 to 219.50 (219.46). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 11,463 head, 884 to 1,098 lbs., 340.00 to 350.00 (345.11); 65 to 80%, 1,311 head, 864 to 1,071 lbs., 345.00; 35 to 65% Choice, 122 head, 1,037 to 1,064 lbs., 343.00 to 345.00 (343,85). Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 1,163 head, 936 to 1,071 lbs., 343.00 to 344.00 (343.42).
Heifers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 2,747 head, 1,300 to 1,500 lbs., 216.00 to 223.00 (218.99).
