The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Oct. 26, reported receipts of 62,863 head compared to 70,518 head a week ago and 82,774 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 23,741 head, 1,385 to 1,725 lbs., 232.00 to 240.00 (237.77); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,982 head, 1,300 to 1,650, 238.00 to 240.00 (238.69); 35 to 65% Choice, 843 head, 1,400 to 1,550, 238.00 to 240.00 (238.30). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 2,587 head, 1,450 to 1,600 lbs., 236.00 to 240.00 (239.65). Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 9,458 head, 822 to 1,102 lbs., 365,00 to 372.00 (369.39); 65 to 80% Choice, 969 head, 944 to 1,040 lbs., 365.00 to 370.00 (368.37). Dressed FOB basis, 634 head, 984 lbs., 370.00.
