High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending May 3, reported receipts of 72,513 head compared to 55,688 head a week ago and 81,570 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 25,378 head, 1,300 to 1,800 lbs., 250.00 to 258.00 (255.13); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,503 head, 1,325 to 1,675 lbs., 250.00 to 256.00 (254.23); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,020 head, 1,400 to 1,700 lbs., 255.00 to 256.00 (255.02). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 2,190 head, 1,375 to 1,650 lbs., 252.00 to 260.00 (257.22).
