High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending May 10, reported receipts of 92,154 head compared to 72,513 head a week ago and 69,506 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 31,162 head, 1,320 to 1,725 lbs., 253.00 to 260.50 (258.73); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,584 head, 1,250 to 1,650 lbs., 255.00 to 260.00 (257.01); 35 to 65% Choice, 664 head, 1,250 to 1,550 lbs., 256.00 to 258.00 (257.02). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 1,719 head, 1,400 to 1,650 lbs., 257.00 to 263.00 (259.53). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 13,071 head, 850 to 1,097 lbs., 400.00 to 405.00 (402.45). 65 to 80% Choice, 752 head, 873 to 1,032 lbs. 400.00 to 405.00 (403.35).
