The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 13 reported receipts of 41,379 head compared to 40,678 head a week ago and 50,299 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 16,118 head, 1,400 to 1,725 lbs., 218.00 to 225.00 (222.82). Live delivered, 325 head, 1,525 to 1,600 lbs. 219.50 to 225.50 (222.00). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 11,041 head, 882 to 1,127 lbs., 345.00 to 355.00 (350.73); 65 to 80%, 343 head, 980 to 1,040 lbs., 350.00; Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 1,502 head, 984 to 1,048 lbs., 347.00 to 350.00 (349.88).
Heifers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 5,409 head, 1,240 to 1,575 lbs., 218.00 to 225.00 (222.93); 65 to 80% Choice, 76 head, 1,400 lbs. 223.00. Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 1,811 head, 819 to 984 lbs., 345.00 to 355.00 (350.16).
