The Tenth Annual Kansas Corn Summer Listening Tour will stop at four locations in August.
These popular summer corn grower meetings will be held at the Mitch Baalman farm at Rexford; Ohlde Seeds in Palmer; TopGolf in Wichita, and wrap up with a special Financial Transition Planning Workshop at Topeka. Corn growers will get updates on corn issues, Kansas Corn programs and more. The events are offered at no cost.

Each session will feature discussion of policy issues and Kansas Corn efforts. The Summer Listening Tour dinners are scheduled at the following dates and locations:
- The Sheridan County event will be Aug. 6, at the Mitch Baalman farm, Rexford, from 6 to 8 p.m. with registration and reception beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- The Washington County event will be Aug. 7, at Ohlde Seed Farms, Palmer, from 6 to 8 p.m. with registration and reception beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- The Sedgwick County event will be Aug. 12, at TopGolf, Wichita, from 6 to 9 p.m. with registration and reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. Participants will hear an ethanol update from Phil Near, owner of JumpStart Stores and will have an opportunity to test their golfing skills while at TopGolf.
- The Shawnee County event on Aug. 13 will offer an afternoon Transition Planning Workshop from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. with registration at 2 p.m. The listening tour dinner will follow the workshop and begin at 6 p.m. The Transition Planning Workshop is offered by AgriLegacy and Bison Financial Legacies, LLC. While transition planning workshops like this are normally offered at a substantial fee, Kansas Corn is offering this workshop at no cost to growers.
The events are opportunities to learn about issues facing corn producers, catch up with other growers and enjoy a meal with Kansas Corn. At each dinner, Kansas Corn leaders and staff will discuss topics including policy and ethanol efforts as well as commission efforts in market development, new uses and more. The goal of each stop is to share information and get feedback from corn growers, which is valued by the association and commission boards in their planning.
To assure meal counts, attendees are asked to register for these summer events online at kscorn.com or by calling the Kansas Corn office at 785-410-5009.
