High Plains Cattle Sales Report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending April 19, reported receipts of 82,880 head compared to 29,361 head a week ago and 55,857 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 22,932 head, 1,400 to 1,750 lbs., 246.00 to 249.00 (248.04); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,424 head, 1,350 to 1,685 lbs., 246.00 to 248.000 (247.89). 35 to 65% Choice, 1,508 head, 1,225 to 1,515 lbs., 248.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 2,801 head, 1,450 to 1,675 lbs., 246.50 to 252.00 (250.28). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 14,137 head, 822 to 1,105 lbs., 385.00 to 392.00 (388.16); 65 to 80% Choice, 528 head, 866 to 1,090 lbs., 386.00 to 388.00 (387.62).
