The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Jan. 5, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $6.54; March corn, $4.91 3/4; and January soybeans, $13.50.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.95 1/4 to $7.54, up 10 1/2 to 12 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $5.53 1/2 to $5.68 3/4, up 8 to 8 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $6.91 3/4 to $7.11 3/4, up 8 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $14.24 to $14.28, up 33 1/2 to 3/4 cents.
Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $5.67 to $5.74.
In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $5.89 to $6.14.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $5.89 1/4 to $6.14 1/4.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.45 1/4 to $6.14 1/4.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.64 1/4 to $5.89 1/4.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.59 1/4 to $5.79 1/4.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $5.45 1/4 to $5.59 1/4.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $5.36 3/4 to $5.41 3/4.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $4.80 3/4 to $4.11 3/4.
In east central Colorado, corn was $5.16 3/4 to $5.26 3/4.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $5.26 3/4.
In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $4.75 3/4 to $4.81 3/4 per bushel.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $6.11 3/4 to $6.26 3/4.
No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $12.57 to $12.82.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $20 to $24 per cwt.
Sunflowers were $19 per cwt.
In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $5.37 to $5.42. Barley was unavailable.
In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $24 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $26 to $27. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $25 to $29. Great Northerns were steady at $30 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $27 to $28. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $40 to $43.
