The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Dec. 29, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $6.18 1/2; March corn, $4.66; and January soybeans, $12.95 1/2.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.88 1/2 to $7.23 1/2, up 4 1/4 to 14 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $5.32 to $5.46, up 9 to 14 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $6.66 to $6.86, up 9 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $13.65 1/2 to $13.77 1/2, up 38 3/4 to 44 1/4 cents.
Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $5.43 to $5.50.
In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $5.65 to $5.90.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $5.65 to $5.90.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.21 to $5.40.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.40 to $5.56.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.35 to $5.50.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $5.21 to $5.35.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $5.06 to $5.16.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $4.55 to $4.86.
In east central Colorado, corn was $4.91 to $5.01.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $5.01.
In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $4.53 to $4.58 per bushel.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $5.86 to $5.96.
No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $12.05 1/2 to $12.30 1/2.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $20 to $24 per cwt.
Sunflowers were $19 per cwt.
In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $5.06 to $5.16. Barley was unavailable.
In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $24 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $26 to $30. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $23 to $29. Great Northerns were steady at $30 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $27 to $28. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $40 to $43.
