Cash bids down

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, sorghum, soybeans and wheat were down according to USDA reported prices, Sept. 29.

For the week ending Sept. 24, a increase of 41,050 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an decrease of 168,238 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a increase of 60,393 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an decrease of 13,258 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Sept. 18, reported a slight decrease at 906,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was unchanged to down 6 3/4 cents.  Corn was down 2 cents.  Sorghum was down 2 cents.  Soybeans were down 3 1/4 to up 5 1/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $4.76.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.81 to $4.91, down 6 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $5.71 to $5.76, down 6 3/4 cents; Portland, $5.65 to $5.75, unchanged; St. Louis, $5.39 1/2 to $5.75 1/2, down 3/4 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.39 3/4 to $3.54 3/4, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, $3.32 3/4 to $3.64 1/2, down 1/2 to 1 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $3.50 3/4 to $3.55 3/4, down 2 to 1 cent; Omaha, $3.21 3/4 to $3.31 3/4, down 1 to 2 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.58 to $9.93, down 3 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $9.57 3/4 to $9.69, down 1 1/4 to 3 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $9.75 to $9.69, down 1 1/4 to 3 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.83 to $9.96, down 3 1/4 to up 5 1/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 29, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.61 to $5.71, down 6 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.06 to $6.16, down 6 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.16 to $6.26, down 6 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.16 to $6.26, down 6 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
