The Alliance for the Future of Agriculture in Nebraska has hired William Keech, Hickman, Nebraska, as director of livestock development and Ashley Babl, Albion, Nebraska, as livestock programming coordinator. Keech will take the lead in building relationships, programming and creation of tools to enhance development of livestock agriculture and Babl’s responsibilities will include creating and managing programming events for producers and communities to enhance education about the industry. Both will be based in the Lincoln, Nebraska, offices.
Ron Restum has been appointed vice president of sales and commercial development at Denver, Colorado-based Inocucor Corporation, a developer and producer of biological crop inputs for high value produce and row crops. Restum has extensive sales and operations management experience in the plant nutrition and agriculture worlds. He has a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.
Mark Goeller has been named state forester and director of Oklahoma Forestry Services, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Goeller has served OFS for the past 33 years and has held various positions with the division, the latest being fire management chief and assistant director since 2005. In his role he will lead the division of more than 100 people.
The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has hired Cassie Danielson as the state brand registrar. There are 13,641 brands registered in Oklahoma and Danielson will process and approve all brand applications and handle the brand renewal process that occurs every five years. Danielson is a 2004 graduate of Oklahoma State University and now resides in Mustang, Oklahoma, with her husband, Alan, and their two 8-year-old twin girls.
The National Corn Growers Association, St. Louis, Missouri, has promoted Nick Goeser to vice president of production and sustainability. He previously was director of the Soil Health Partnership, a project of the NCGA, and he will serve as a member of the SHP steering committee and remain engaged with the science advisory council.
Kong Song (Ivan) Goh has joined U.S. Wheat Associates as a biscuit, baking and noodle technologist and will serve as its colleague to its South Asian Region Office in Singapore, China. USW represents the interests of United States wheat farmers in the global milling wheat market.
Austin, Texas-based Farm Credit Bank of Texas, a wholesale bank that funds 14 rural lending cooperatives in five states, reported strong loan volume and assets in the first quarter of 2018. Total assets increased 1.1 percent from the end of 2017 and 6 percent year over year to a record $23.1 billion at March 31. Total loan volume was a record $17.4 billion.
