Ada livestock auction report
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported estimated receipts of 1,600 head selling on Feb. 14, compared to 1,444 head a week ago and 665 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were selling steady to $1 higher, feeder cattle not fully tested but comparable sales were steady to firm. Overall quality mostly average. Demand was very good for calves, good for yearling cattle. Heifers made up 45% and cattle over 600 pounds 25% of supply.
