Ozarks Regional cattle sales report
The Ozarks Regional Stockyards, West Plains, Missouri, reported receipts of 5,885 head selling on June 26, compared to 4,725 head a week ago and 3,817 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were trading $5 to $8 lower with spots selling $10 to $12 lower. Yearling steers and heifers were trading $3 to $6 lower. Demand was moderate on a heavy supply which included a 586 head string of 9 weight steers. The feeder cattle supply included 58% steers, 1% dairy steers, 39% heifers and 3% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 54%. Ozarks Regional livestock will be closed for the holiday.
