The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 4,860 head selling on March 3, compared to 3,770 head a week ago and 5,000 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling mostly steady and heifers were selling steady to $5 lower. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. The feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers with nearly 58% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
