San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,010 head selling on Dec. 6, compared to 2,173 head a week ago and 1,384 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling weak. Slaughter cows were selling steady, slaughter bulls were selling firm to $2 higher. Stock cows and pairs were selling steady. Trading and demand were moderate. The supply included 13% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 80% feeders, 6% stock cows and pairs. The feeders were 50% steers and bulls, 50% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 200 to 300 lbs., 171.00; 318 lbs., 176.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 132.00 to 144.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 121.00 to 130.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 119.00 to 122.50; 804 lbs., 112.00; 900 to 1000 lbs., 110.00 to 113.00. Medium and large frame 2 350 to 400 lbs., 146.00 to 158.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 139.00 to 151.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 124.00 to 132.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 113.00 to 120.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 107.00 to 118.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 106.00 to 107.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 124.00 to 134.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 115.00 to 124.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 104.00 to 119.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 97.00 to 104.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 86.00 to 90.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1700 lbs., 33.00 to 43.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1200 lbs., 42.50 to 49.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1400 lbs., 37.00 to 46.00; low dressing, 30.00 to 37.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 20.00 to 30.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1450 to 2100 lbs., 65.50 to 73.00; high yielding, 74.00; low yielding, 1200 to 1700 lbs., 55.00 to 66.00.

Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested, and all were sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1100.00. Medium and large frame 2, 655.00 to 925.00.

Pairs: All were sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 2, 860.00 to 910.00.

Stock/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1050 lbs., no test; young and middle age, 800 to 1000 lbs., 77.00 to 88.00 hundredweight; middle age 900 to 1450 lbs., 52.00 to 68.00; thin and or aged 800 to 1200 lbs., 37.00 to 49.00 hundredweight.
