Colorado feeder cattle auction summary
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colorado, reported receipts of 2,846 head selling Dec. 21, compared to 10,696 head a week ago and 1,304 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado.
Compared to a week ago, trade activity and demand moderate to good. Feeder steers under 650 pounds were trading $1 to $6 lower, 650 to 800 pounds were selling unevenly steady, and there was no test on steers over 800 pounds. Feeder heifers under 700 pounds were trading mostly steady to $3 higher, with no test on heifers over 700 pounds. The feeder supply consisted of approximately 57% steers and 43% heifers. The feeder cattle over 600 pounds made up approximately 42% of the supply. The next available report will be issued Jan. 11, 2019.
