High Plains slaughter cattle sales report
High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Aug. 19, totaled 101,210 head selling, compared to 92,824 head a week ago and 96,528 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 30,324 head, 1,300 to 1,575 lbs., 108.00 to 111.50 (109.85); 65 to 80% Choice, 15,897 head, 1,225 to 1,600 lbs., 109.00 to 110.50 (109.98); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,570 head, 1,325 to 1,460 lbs., 110.00 to 110.50 (110.26). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 11,200 head, 794 to 984 lbs., 171.00 to 175.00 (173.16); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,025 head, 824 to 1,000 lbs., 171.00 to 173.00 (172.86).
