High Plains slaughter cattle sales report
High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Oct. 7, totaled 111,608 head selling, compared to 106,273 head a week ago and 75,627 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 32,453 head, 1,150 to 1,625 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00 (110.97); 65 to 80% Choice, 8,050 head, 1,250 to 1,625 lbs., 108.50 to 111.50 (110.88); 35 delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 18,394 head, 797 to 1,024 lbs., 173.50 to 176.00 (174.82); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,687 head, 832 to 1,027 lbs., 174.00 to 176.00 (174.86).
