Kansas Farmers Union invites the public to a Local Food Safety & Security Farm Tour
Featured farms include The SAVE Farm, which provides therapy as needed and hands-on teaching to veterans and transitioning servicemembers through experienced professionals. Veterans learn how to successfully and sustainably manage cropland, livestock animals, orchards, horticulture and beekeeping.
Another stop is at A&H Farm, which grows crops and livestock and is involved with agritourism. Lunch will be provided at no cost to tour attendees while at A&H. Other stops will be at the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s laboratory and the Highland Vineyards and Winery near Wamego.
This tour is sponsored by National Farmers Union’s Local Food Safety Collaborative. The tour and lunch are free to attendees, but registration is required at https://www.kansasfarmersunion.org/news.
