High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Feb. 11, reported receipts of 64,248 head compared to 57,712 head a week ago and 87,700 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 19,855 head, 1,285 to 1,665 lbs., 176.00 – 183.00 (181.01); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,382 head, 1,130 to 1,600 lbs., 180.00 to 182.00 (181.66); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,135 head, 1,250 to 1,425 lbs., 182.00. Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,360 head, 1,450 to 1,575 lbs., 183.00 to 184.00 (183.73). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 8,905 head, 801 to 1,040 lbs., 280.00 to 290.00 (287.26); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,618 head, 798 to 965 lbs., 285.00 to 289.00 (288.00).
