National Sorghum Foundation

The National Sorghum Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026-2027 academic scholarships, offering financial support to college students pursuing degrees in agriculture.

The program includes three scholarships, each valued at $1,500, aimed at supporting students preparing for careers connected to the sorghum industry.

“Our industry depends on the next generation stepping into leadership roles,” said Foundation Chair Jeff Dahlberg. “This program helps support students who are ready to contribute to the future of sorghum and agriculture.”

The Bruce Maunder Memorial Scholarship is open to sophomores through seniors enrolled in agriculture-based degree programs. The award honors Maunder’s 37-year career in sorghum research and crop improvement.

The Darrell Rosenow Memorial Scholarship targets students studying agronomy, plant pathology, entomology or plant breeding with an emphasis on sorghum. Rosenow spent more than 40 years as a sorghum plant breeder and contributed to advancements in hybrid sorghum.

The Bill Kubecka Memorial Scholarship is available to undergraduate sophomores through seniors, as well as graduate and law students. Eligible applicants must study agricultural economics, policy or law. In addition to tuition support, the award includes travel expenses to attend the National Sorghum Producers’ annual legislative fly-in.

Applications are open through June 1, 2026. Additional details and application materials are available through the National Sorghum Foundation.
