High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 7, reported receipts of 66,886 head compared to 48,451 head a week ago and 63,138 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,519 head, 1,250 to 1,720 lbs., 253.00 to 258.00 (256.52); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,369 head, 1,350 to 1,650 lbs., 255.00 to 258.00 (256.54); 35 to 65% Choice, 400 head, 1,400 to 1,500 lbs., 256.00 to 258.00 (256.61). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 3,408 head, 1,400 to 1,675 lbs., 256.00 to 261.50 (260.82).
