AAA partners with Feeding America to fuel hope, fight hunger

As food insecurity remains a pressing challenge across the United States, AAA is launching a nationwide gift and volunteer campaign in partnership with Feeding America to help meet the growing need.

The grassroots effort, which began June 8, aims to provide at least 4.5 million meals to individuals and families facing hunger through local pantry food bank networks.

“This effort is about more than a meal. It is about bringing comfort, dignity and hope to people facing difficult circumstances,” said Tom Wiedemann, CEO, AAA Club Alliance. “Now is a second year, we are thrilled to partner for a second year with Feeding America and neighbors helping neighbors. By supporting local food banks and helping build a future where no one has to wonder where their next meal will come from.”

With AAA’s expertise reaching thousands of dedicated Associates and nearly 65 million Members in the United States, the organization aims to raise awareness, generate donations, mobilize volunteers and unite people around a shared goal: building a hunger-free America.

“We can end hunger when we work together,” said Elizabeth Petersen, interim vice president, corporate and foundation partnerships at Feeding America. “Through the Fuel Hope, Fight Hunger campaign, together we can help provide meals to help nourish our neighbors facing food and resources they need to thrive.”

In every community facing food insecurity, families are navigating rising costs and limited access to food. According to Feeding America, nearly 47 million people, including 13.8 million children, experienced food insecurity in the United States. In Kansas, nearly 411,000 people are facing hunger, including more than 124,000 children. The summer months can be especially difficult for children who rely on school meals, making community support efforts during this time especially critical.
