Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly higher for wheat, corn, soybeans, and sorghum according to USDA reported prices, Aug. 23.
For the week ending Aug. 18, an increase of 201,172 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 81,745 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed an increase of 204,359 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 77,351 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending Aug. 12, decreased to 983,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was up 17 1/4 cents to unchanged. Corn up 26 1/4 to 26 1/2 cents. Sorghum was up 26 1/2 cents. Soybeans were up 25 3/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City September wheat was $8.82 1/2.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $9.62 1/2, up 17 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $10.49 1/2, change unavailable; Portland, $8.50 to $8.90, unchanged; St. Louis, $7.82 3/4 to $8.07 3/4, down 5 3/4 to 7 1/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.55 to $7.60, up 26 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $6.80 to $7.30, up 26 1/2 to 31 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $6.60 to $7.10, up 26 1/2 cents; Omaha, $6.88 to $7.07, up 24 1/2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $15.11 to $15.61, up 25 3/4 to 15 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $15.71 to $15.86, up 25 3/4 to 35 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $15.86 to $16.46, up 25 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $15.11 to $16.86, up 25 3/4 cents.
