CSU receives $6 million to help rural communities

Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing

Colorado State University has received a two-year, $6 million investment from the state to create a center that will expand Colorado’s behavioral health workforce.

Behavioral health services include counseling, therapy and support groups. Key service providers may be located in schools, health clinics, private practices, and community agencies.

Connections among individuals, families and providers can be inconsistent, particularly in rural and frontier communities. The new center is charged with training providers within the Colorado System of Care to meet the demand for timely, high-quality services for approximately 1,000 youth and families in the first year.
