High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending March 22, reported receipts of 41,239 head compared to 35,314 head a week ago and 77,140 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 12,529 head, 1,275 to 1,750 lbs., 232.00 to 238.00 (235.09); 65 to 80% Choice, 666 head, 1,377 to 1,625 lbs., 235.00); 35 to 65% Choice, 848 head, 1,440 to 1,500 lbs., 235.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 2,143 head, 1,475 to 1,625 lbs., 238.00 to 240.00 (239.97). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 7,381 head, 851 to 1,120 lbs., 370.00 to 380.00 (372.16); 65 to 80% Choice, 475 head, 921 to 986 lbs., 372.00. Dressed FOB delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 501 head, 932 to 1,008 lbs., 372.00 to 380.00 (375.61). 65 to 80% Choice, 106 head, 834 lbs., 372.00.
