Farm buildings can take a beating over time, whether due to equipment damage, inclement weather or normal wear and tear. Jeremiah Fairbanks, general manager of repairs and renovations for Morton Buildings, Morton, Illinois, offers five reasons for considering a steel roof replacement.
Weather – With the arrival of spring weather, farm buildings can be threatened by hail and high winds that accompany severe storms. When damage is too severe for repairs, the best solution is a new roof.

- Gutters and gutter guards to manage water runoff and protect the building foundation
- Snow bars (when truss design allows) to prevent potential snow slides
