Sorghum, soybean cash bids higher

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were mixed, according to USDA reported prices, Feb. 23.

For the week ending Feb. 18, a decrease of 83,150 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 200,336 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 94,219 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 53,017 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Feb. 12, reported a decrease at 911,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was down 10 3/4 cents to up 5 cents. Corn was up 2 3/4 cents. Sorghum was up 2 3/4 cents. Soybeans were up 2 1/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.41.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.66, down 3 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $6.46, down 10 3/4 cents; Portland, $7.20 to $7.65, unchanged to up 5 cents; St. Louis, $7 3/4 to $7.05 3/4, up 1 3/4 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.43 3/4 to $5.45 3/4, up 2 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.98 3/4 to $5.37 1/2, up 1 to 3 cents; southern Iowa, $5.43 3/4 to $5.56 1/2, unchanged to up 2 3/4 cents; Omaha, $5.15 3/4 to $5.52 1/4, up 2 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.96 to $14.11, up 2 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $13.51 to $13.86 1/2, up 17 1/2 to 27 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $13.84 to $14.08 1/2, up 2 to 22 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.16 to $14.34, up 2 1/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Feb. 23, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.41 to $7.51, down 3 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $7.66 to $7.76, down 3 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $7.61 to $7.71, down 3 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $7.61 to $7.71, down 3 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
