Wheat cash bids mixed
Compared to last week, cash bids for wheat was mixed, while corn, sorghum and soybeans were lower, according to the Weekly National Grain Market Review, Jan. 17.
For the week ending Jan. 9, an increase of 30.9 million bushels of corn export sales for 2019-20 were reported while an increase of 26.1 million bushels of soybean exports sales for 2019-20 were tabulated. Wheat export sales showed an increase of 23.9 million bushels for 2019-20 were reported.
Ethanol production for the week ending Jan. 10, reported an increase of 33,000 barrels per day to 1.095 million barrels a day. Ethanol stocks increased 0.544 million barrels at 23.0 million barrels.
Wheat was 31 3/4 cents lower to 10 cents higher. Corn was 2 3/4 cents to 9 3/4 cents lower. Sorghum was 14 cents lower. Soybeans were 8 3/4 cents to 20 1/2 cents lower.
In the futures close Jan. 21, Kansas City March wheat was $5, unchanged.
Terminal wheat bids Jan. 21, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.90 to $5.10, up 5 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, no quotes; Portland, $6.20 to $6.30, unchanged to up 5 cents; St. Louis, $6.52, up 11 cents.
Terminal corn bids Jan. 21, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.95 1/2 to $3.97 1/2, down 3 3/4 to 1 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.56 1/2, down 1 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.65 1/2 to $3.77 1/2, down 1 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.78 to $3.89, down 1 cent.
Terminal soybean bids Jan. 21, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $8.88 to $9.11, down 18 3/4 to 13 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $8.67, down 13 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $8.82 to $8.87, down 13 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.16 to $9.26, down 13 3/4 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 21, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.75 to $5.85, up 5 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.30 to $6.40, up 20 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.85 to $6.95, up 5 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $7.10 to $7.20, up 5 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $4.09 1/4 to $4.14 1/4, up 7 1/2 to down 1/4 cent.
