Apache Livestock Auction report

The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,341 head selling on March 22, compared to 2,088 head a week ago and 2,054 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $3 to $7 lower. Feeder heifers were selling steady to $3 lower. Steer calves were selling lower on a limited test. Heifer calves were trading $2 to $6 lower. Quality was good to attractive with weak demand. The supply included 41% over 600 pounds and 61% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $5 to lower. In Slaughter bulls, there were not enough for a market test. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 139 cows and bulls sold with 60% going to packers.
