Soybean cash bids lower

 

 Compared to Jan. 8, cash bids for wheat, corn, and sorghum were higher, soybeans were lower, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Jan. 9. 

Soybeans struggled to build support Jan. 9 from a lack in buying interest. Some of the Jan. 9 trading was fueled by speculation over what the Jan. 12 USDA reports will reveal. 

Corn was mostly 1 cent higher. Soybeans were mostly 3 cents lower. Sorghum was 3 cents higher. Wheat was mostly 5 cents higher. 

In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $4.39, up 5 3/4 cents. 

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.22, up 5 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $6.40 3/4, up 5 1/4 cents; Portland, $5.27 to $5.33, up 2 to 3 cents; St. Louis, $4.32 to $4.44, up 5 cents. 

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.37, up 1 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, no comparison; southern Iowa, $3.24 to $3.34, up 1 3/4 to 4 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.26 to $3.34, up 1 3/4 to 4 3/4 cents. 

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.15 3/4 to $9.18 3/4, down 3 cents; Minneapolis, no comparisons; southern Iowa, $9.23 3/4 to $9.27 3/4, down 3 to 6 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.45 3/4 to $9.55 3/4, down 3 cents. 

Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 9, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.04 to $5.19, up 5 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $6.34 to $6.49, up 8 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $6.74 to $6.89, up 5 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $6.91 to $7.06, up 5 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $3.39 1/4 to $3.42, up 1/2 down 1 1/2 cents.
