High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales report
High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending April 1 totaled 91,287 head selling, compared to 120,137 head selling a week ago and 80,481 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 10,650 head, 1,275 to 1,587 lbs., 119.00 to 125.00 (121.72); 65 to 80% Choice, 17,242 head, 1,225 to 1,540 lbs., 117.00 to 122.00 (120.68); 35 to 65% Choice, 8,852 head, 1,100 to 1,575 lbs., 118.50 to 121.00 (120.60).
