High Plains weekly direct slaughter cattle sales

High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending July 1, totaled 110,690 head selling, compared to 70,449 head a week ago and 84,353 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 20,002 head, 1,200 to 1,535 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00 (106.99); 65 to 80% Choice, 22,779 head, 1,160 to 1,535 lbs., 106.00 to 108.00 (106.73); 35 to 65% Choice, 6,104 head, 1,160 to 1,440 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00 (106.99).
