Cash bids for wheat, soybeans, sorghum mostly lower
Compared to June 18, cash bids for wheat, soybeans, and sorghum were mostly lower, while corn was mixed, according to the National Grain Market Summary, June 19.
Markets tumbled again June 18 after the day started with news that President Trump was moving toward imposing another $200 billion of tariffs against China if China proceeds with their new tariff list.
Wheat was steady to 16 1/2 cents lower. Corn was from 2 1/4 cents lower to 3 3/4 cents higher. Soybeans were 10 1/2 to 19 1/2 cents lower. Sorghum was 3 to 3 1/4 cents lower.
In the futures close, Kansas City July wheat was $4.83, down 16 1/2 cents.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $5.13, down 16 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $5.99 1/2, down 14 1/4 cents; Portland, $5.85 to $6.18, down 5 cents to unchanged; St. Louis, $4.93 to $5.02, down 12 to 8 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.48 3/4, up 2 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.09 3/4, down 2 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.24 3/4 to $3.35 3/4, up 2 3/4 to 3 3/4 cents; Omaha, $3.36 to $3.38, down 2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $8.84, down 19 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $8.34, down 19 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $8.52 to $8.63, 15 1/2 to 10 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $8.71 to $8.86, up 19 1/2 to 7 1/2 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices June 19, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.79 to $5.94, down 16 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $6.28 to $6.43, down 16 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $6.43 to $6.58, down 16 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $6.43 to $6.58, down 16 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $3.38 3/4 to $3.77 3/4, down 15 1/4 to 4 1/4 cents.
