Canadian County Junior Livestock Show and sale will be March 3-6
The Canadian County Free Fair Board will be hosting the 46th Annual 4-H and FFA Spring Livestock Show the first weekend in March at the Canadian County Fair Grounds located at 220 N. Country Club Rd, El Reno. This show has a long history of youth participating in animal agriculture programs as they exhibit sheep, goat, swine and beef projects.
The Beef Show has been moved up to March 5 at 5 p.m. The spring livestock show has been a way to showcase the positive youth development projects. Young people from across the county develop many positive life skills that direct them towards being productive and responsible citizens for our communities’ futures.
Kyle Worthington, OSU Extension director and junior livestock show superintendent said, “Youth involved in 4-H and FFA will have developed most skill sets employers look for in an employee such as the ability to communicate well with others, make decisions and learn to be reliable and dependable.” He went on to say, “The spring show provides us an opportunity to recognize and reward our 4-H and FFA members for their dedicated work, as they have grown and developed their livestock projects for exhibition.”
The Junior Livestock Show will conclude with the dinner, social and premium sale. Business owners and individuals are welcome to visit the show as the youth exhibit their projects and are also welcome to enjoy dinner, the presale entertainment and the premium sale on March 6.
