Above normal precipitation received (Oklahoma)

Precipitation levels were above normal for the week ending Nov. 4, with the exception of the Northeast district, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Southern Plains Regional Field Office, Oklahoma. The statewide average rainfall for the week was 0.73 of an inch with the Southeast district recording the highest at 2.64 inches. Statewide, temperatures averaged in the mid 50s. Topsoil and subsoil moisture conditions were rated mostly adequate to surplus. There were 4.5 days suitable for fieldwork.

Winter wheat planted reached 82 percent, down 7 points from the previous year. Winter wheat emerged reached 71 percent, down 6 points from the previous year. Canola planted reached 70 percent. Canola emerged reached 41 percent, down 43 points from the previous year. Rye planted reached 82 percent. Rye emerged reached 54 percent, down 35 points from the previous year. Oats planted reached 50 percent, down 4 points from the previous year and down 3 points from normal.

Corn harvested reached 87 percent, down 2 points from the previous year and down 7 points from normal. Sorghum mature reached 93 percent, down 6 points from the previous year. Sorghum harvested reached 69 percent, up 1 point from the previous year. Soybeans dropping leaves reached 85 percent, down 5 points from the previous year. Soybeans harvested reached 43 percent, down 21 points from the previous year. Peanuts mature reached 95 percent, down 1 point from the previous year. Peanuts harvested reached 53 percent, down 22 points from the previous year and down 19 points from normal. Cotton harvested reached 28 percent, down 11 points from the previous year and down 10 points from normal.
