High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending April 26, reported receipts of 55,688 head compared to 82,880 head a week ago and 52,524 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 16,204 head, 1,350 to 1,725 lbs., 244.00 to 248.00 (246.19); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,409 head, 1,390 to 1,650 lbs., 246.00 to 246.50 (246.01); 35 to 65% Choice, 966 head, 1,450 to 1,520 lbs., 246.00 to 247.00 (246.44). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 4,502 head, 1,475 to 1,700 lbs., 248.00 to 250.00 (249.34). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 6,704 head, 861 to 1,092 lbs., 386.00. Dressed FOB delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 795 head, 921 to 1,016 lbs., 385.00 to 386.00 (385.73); 65 to 80% Choice, 55 head, 889 lbs., 390.00.
