Grain market close
The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the close grain report for Dec. 11, reported in futures trading that Chicago March soft red winter wheat was $5.21, down 4 1/4 cents; March corn, $3.84, up 3/4 cents; and March soybeans, $9.15, up 5 1/4 cents.
The export bid for the direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein was $5.64 3/4 to $5.79 3/4, down 5 1/2 cents. No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.86 to $5.96, down 4 1/4 cents. No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.23 3/4 to $4.32 3/4, down 1/4 to up 3/4 cents. No. 2 sorghum, rail, $7.40 1/2 to $7.58 1/2, up 1 1/4, barge, not available. No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $9.30 to $9.35, up 5 1/4 cents.
Colby, Kansas unit train wheat bid was, $4.50.
In Denver and the surrounding area, U.S. hard red winter wheat, up to 12% protein, was $4.85 to $5.05.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado mostly 5 cents lower.
In north central Colorado, wheat was $4.44 to $4.95.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.42 to $4.65.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.22 to $4.80.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.25 to $4.55.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.37 to $4.65.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado mostly 1 cent higher at $3.94 to $3.95.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.42 to $3.60.
In east central Colorado, corn was $3.40 to $3.55.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.20 to $3.80.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.42 to $3.58.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was mostly 1 cents higher at $5.27 to $5.80.
No. 1 yellow soybeans southwest Nebraska 5 cents higher at $7.72-$7.75.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $10.50 to $11.50.
Sunflowers were $18 cwt.
In Denver and surrounding areas, U.S. yellow corn was $3.95 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.
In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady to $1 lower at $21; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $21-$22. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady at $26. Great Northerns were steady at $21 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady at $21 to $22. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady at $34-$35.
