High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales

High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending June 24, totaled 70,449 head selling, compared to 51,342 head a week ago and 84,100 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 10,117 head, 1,250 to 1,550 lbs., 107.00 to 113.00 (108.67); 65 to 80% Choice, 10,730 head, 1,225 to 1,500 lbs., 107.00 to 110.00 (108.75); 35 to 65% Choice, 3,301 head, 1,200 to 1,550 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00 (108.92).
