This past week, demand was light, trade was slow, and prices were steady on a limited test, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, May 13.

New crop pricing remains elusive, while new crop hay is ready to hit the ground in some locations and with the warmer temps and dryer conditions, producers will be getting after it. Grass hay still seems to be in abundance, while we have put a dent in old crop grinding alfalfa inventories. Prices were based on averages and given on a per-ton basis, unless otherwise noted.
