Kansas—This past week, prices and movement remained steady. With warmer temperatures, abundant sunshine, and windy conditions, fields have dried sufficiently, allowing hay harvest activities to progress across much of the state. Many producers are in the midst of second cutting alfalfa, while brome harvest is underway in several areas. Hay season is now in full swing as favorable weather has supported fieldwork, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, July 5.
