Wheat Foods Council names Sheri Glazier executive director

Sheri Glazier - new Executive Director of the Wheat Foods Council

The Wheat Foods Council has named Sheri Glazier as its executive director, effective Aug. 18. Glazier is a wheat producer and registered dietitian from Loyal, Oklahoma. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutritional sciences from Oklahoma State University.

She is the founder of Dirt Road Dietitian—a program focused on connecting nutrition science and agriculture through consumer education. She also founded GROWN, a platform designed to foster education and relationships among agriculture, nutrition professionals and consumers.

Glazier has served as a consulting dietitian for the Oklahoma Beef Council since 2016. She began her career as a clinical dietitian with Mercy, a physician-led health system serving Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Glazier is also a formed speaker at High Plains Journal’s Cattle U event.

“As a lifelong wheat producer and with the last 10 years of my career bridging nutrition and agriculture communications, this role brings my entire skillset together,” Glazier said. “From increasing consumer trust in wheat foods to connecting wheat farmer stories to the consumer, I am excited to lead the Wheat Foods Council into its next chapter as a unified national voice for wheat foods.”

Glazier and her husband operate a fifth-generation farm that produces wheat, hay and cattle. The operation also includes Glazier Farms, a direct-to-consumer protein business.

“Sheri’s ability to speak confidently about wheat production and nutrition from personal knowledge and experience, her online presence, and her ability to communicate and connect effectively with consumers, is going to be an enormous benefit to the organization,” said Britany Hurst Marchant, chairwoman of the Wheat Foods Council. “After a year of evaluation and reconstruction of the organization, I am confident in Sheri’s ability to take this opportunity by the reins and guide WFC into a productive future.”

The organization has operated under its executive committee, with assistance from board members, since May 2025, when former President Tim O’Connor stepped down. Following his departure, the board conducted a review of the organization’s structure, vision and mission.

In late 2025, the council retained Roots & Legacies, a Kansas-based consulting firm, to conduct an organizational analysis and develop a position description for the executive director role.

Established in 1972, the Wheat Foods Council works to promote awareness of grains, complex carbohydrates and fiber as part of a healthful diet. The organization develops educational programs for health and nutrition professionals, media, chefs and consumers and is supported through voluntary contributions from wheat producers, millers, bakers, and related industries.
