The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 12, reported receipts of 57,501 head compared to 52,114 head a week ago and 64,226 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 15,637 head, 1,350 to 1,700 lbs., 245.00 to 250.00 (248.01); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,336 head, 1,425 to 1,650 lbs., 248.00; 35 to 65% Choice, 70 head, 1,829 to 1,350 to 1,600 lbs., 248.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 850 head, 1,500 to 1,600 lbs., 250.00 to 253.00 (251.84). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 12,920 head, 837 to 1,104 lbs., 385.00 to 395.00 (391.51); 65 to 80% Choice, 35 head, 826 lbs., 385.00.
