The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for May 4, reported in futures trading that Chicago May soft red winter wheat was $7.37; May corn, $7.44 3/4; and May soybeans, $15.77.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $7.81 1/2 to $8.31 3/4, up 8 1/2 to 11 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $7.10 1/4 to $7.10 3/4, up 12 1/2 to 18 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $8.81 3/4 to $8.94 3/4, up 17 1/4 to 12 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $14.45 1/4 to $16.47, up 14 1/4 to 22 cents.

Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $6.65 to $6.74.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $6.79 to $7.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $6.79 1/4 to $7 1/4.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $6.24 1/4 to $6.54 1/4.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $6.59 1/4 to $6.81.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $6.66 to $6.89 1/4.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $6.24 1/4 to $6.49 1/4.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $7.41 1/4 to $7.66 3/4.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.16 3/4 to $7.36 3/4.

In east central Colorado, corn was $6.91 3/4 to $7.31 3/4.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.61 3/4 to $7.84 3/4.

In southwest Nebraska corn bids were $7.11 3/4 to $7.18 1/4 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $7.51 3/4 to $7.94 3/4.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $14.85 1/4 to $14.98 1/4.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $31 to $33 per cwt.

Sunflowers were $26 per cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $7.42 to $7.67. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $33 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady at $34 to $35. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $35 to $36. Great Northerns were steady at $30 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32-$33. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $46.
