Winter wheat condition rated 16 percent very poor, 33 poor, 39 fair, 11 good, and 1 excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 35 percent, well behind 80 last year and 65 for the five-year average.

Corn planted was 15 percent, near 19 last year, and behind 24 average.
